Flipping the Pads

Wish I had 1/2 or 3/4 oz sinkers with me instead of 1/4. Going to pick some up soon and return. This clear water lake is extremely tough, the bass like to hide far from shore, and if you are able to spot one, he already spooks and swims off. Next time I'll cast about 10 ft from the shore.

Fishing today was slow

Decided to fish a lake I haven't been to in a while. I've been lucky there in the past with finesse techniques, but I dedicated my time to using the Sasuteki Craw there. Color choice was a Green Pumpkin Pepper craw color with brown and purple skirt. This color seem to stand out pretty well in this lake. Actually had a bite on it, but I set too early instead of letting the fish take it in a bit more. That's another fish lost on the new rod... BTW, my favorite lake is closed for the weekend due to a kids fishing derby.

I didn't throw the flick shake much.

One day it's cold and raining, the next day it's hot!

Went out today for 2 hours in the scorching hot sun. It's funny that yesterday was cold, gloomy and raining, and today it's hitting 90 degrees. Got to love this beautiful California weather. I instantly got hit on my Jackall Dum Dum Hog and miss the set. Threw out my Sasuteki Craw, and get hit a few minutes later, set the hook and miss! One of the craw legs went missing. I fished that spot for the next hour finally getting the girl to bite once more! 4 lbs on the dot!

For those of you wondering, this is all the tools I use to rig my Sasuteki Craw. I got the idea as mentioned before from Hata Takuma, a Japanese Pro Bass fisherman, who is sponsored by Zappu and Jackall Bros.

Items:
-Jackall Sasuteki Craw 4"
-Spinnerbait/jig skirt (trimmed)
-River2sea Tungsten Bullet Weight (anywhere from 3/16 up to 1/2 depending on grass)
-Decoy Japan Texas Stop Medium
-Worm rattles
-Owner TwistLOCK hook 3/0

Finished product looks like this:

They seem to love this particular color set up.

My new favorite lure...

Jackall Sasuteki Craw!

It was released in the U.S. a couple months ago, and since then, I've been getting tons of fish on it. I fell in love with the Texas Rig all over again. I saw a video of Hata Takuma using this lure. Hata Takuma is a Japanese Pro Bass fisherman and I believe it was him who invented this lure. One particular way he rigs is it with a skirt seen in this video.

Here is my version of it:

I've recently been doing this with huge success, one being a 6 lb 2 oz fish!

You can purchase the Jackall Sasuteki Craw at www.TackleWarehouse.com

Rainy Day? So what, I'm still going out!

Some bass missed a shad like 4 times, so I threw out a Jackall Cherry 0 Footer 48 in the Tonosama Frog color, and WHAM!

I'm going to buy this, from Japan! Will be my first JDM rod

Here are a few fish from previous outings
