Looks like the guys at Shimano Japan have done it again! Last year they released the Aldebaran, which is lighter than the Steez, and also Shimano USA released it too which made me happy (and poor).
This year however, they released that same reel, but with an aluminum body! It will make it a bit heavier but the upside is that it can take brackish water a lot better than the Magnesium counterpart. It also comes in a 6:4:1 ratio which is what I prefer in my reels (the Core 50Mg came only in 7:1).
Behold this stunning beauty~! I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Finally a bite!
Hot sunny day made for two bites. Looks like the lake still is going good. Both came off from the Jackall Super J Reaper in 4 inch in the Ayu color, drop shotting.
First bite was a short bite, didn't hook up at all. Finally I get a solid bite but it comes off about 2 feet from shore. First fish of 2010 came off! Still need that first fish!
Rod: Shimano Cumara CUC68M

Jackall New Products for 2010
Jackall looks to be introducing 4 new rods in their Poison Heritage lineup for 2010. From the looks of it, it seems to be currently at 3 spinning models and a baitcasting model.
Spinning Models:
HS-68UL-i "i-Spec" seems to be a model specifically made for the new Jackall Seira Minnow and iShad lure, or basically anything that you fish "i motion", a new technique in Japan. Specifics are:
Length: 6'8"
Lure: 1/32-3/16 oz
Max Fluoro: 4 lbs
HS-60UL-XS "Competist SXF Tour Edition" is the new Competist model, another solid graphite rod.
Length: 6'0"
Lure: 1/64-1/8
Line: 2-4 lbs
HS-70ML "Power Finesse"
Length: 7'0"
Lure: 1/16-3/8
Line: Max Fluoro 10 lbs
Baitcast Model:
HC-67ML "Bait Finesse"
Length:6'7"
Lure: 3/32-1/4
Line: 6-12 lb
Of all these models, I am most certainly interested in the HC-67ML to use for light Texas-rigging and perhaps wacky rigging. Looks like it's time to save up for this rod. Two rods will sure be introduced to my on growing lineup of rods, Super Inch Wacky HS-66UL-IW, and the new Bait Finesse HC-67-ML.
Jackall looks to introduce some new plastics to their already stellar lineup.
My Japanese skills aren't that great but this seems to be called Clone Fry? Looks similar to the Jackall Super Pin Tail but with a split tail. Cannot wait to get my hands on these and hope it makes it to the USA or I'll have to have it imported like with the rods.
